Officers will acquire the skills to reduce the risk of challenging behaviour and should it occur they will know how to manage the situation safely to a satisfactory outcome. To achieve this your officers will learn about the Stages of Incident, the value of effective communication, psychological responses to behaviour and how to manage their environment using recognised risk assessment models.
Guards will learn the Law in relation to the Use of Force including Human Rights, Civil law, Government, guidance and organisational policies and procedures.
The practice element of this course instructs your officers on Safe holding and Disengagement techniques suitable for all service users including children, mental health patients and the elderly. This course will give your officers an understanding of the value of accurate recording flowing an incidents and how retrospectively reviewing incidents can reduce the need for restraints and make improvements to their role and patient safety.
